About the job: The Iglesias Gardens is seeking an Administrative Coordinator to support our fundraising, budgeting, events support and administrative duties. This position would be part-time at 20 hours per week, $20 per hour. Iglesias Gardens is a volunteer-run grassroots community garden and organizing space. This position will help us to raise the funds needed to secure our community garden land, support community events, and keep our finances in check. The position would report to the Board of Directors (5 members of our community & dedicated garden volunteers). There would be a 90 day training period in which a few Garden leaders would train the new staff member on processes and procedures and allow space for relationship building. Many of the job responsibilities such as budget creation and grant writing will still be done collaboratively, but we are looking for someone to lead and facilitate the processes.

Job Responsibilities 

  • Lead grant-writing to acquire funds to purchase the privately-owned lots in our community garden. 
  • Support fundraising activities including an annual crowdfunder campaign, etc.
  • Budget management – work with an accountant to manage the budget. 
  • Print materials including canvassing documents, flyers for events, etc. 
  • Support the coordination of our major annual events, including the Worker’s Day Celebration, the Solstice, a Back to School Block Party and Dia de Muertos (May-November).


  • Experience with fundraising, including grant writing, crowdfunding and event fundraising
  • Experience supporting coordination of large events
  • Experience creating and managing budgets
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred
  • Weekend availability
